असम राज्य में कुल 47,210 Ex-Servicemen (ESM), युद्ध विधवाएं और विधवाएं (अप्रैल 2022 तक) हैं जिनकी आवश्यकताओं और शिकायतों का निपटारा राज्य सैनिक कल्याण विभाग (RSB) और इसके अंतर्गत आने वाले जिला सैनिक बोर्ड (Zila Sainik Board - ZSB) द्वारा किया जाता है।

असम सरकार द्वारा विभिन्न वीरता पुरस्कार विजेताओं को नकद पुरस्कार दिया जाता है। यह पुरस्कार विभिन्न वीरता पदकों के आधार पर अलग-अलग होते हैं:

- Group 'C' और 'D' पोस्ट में 2% आरक्षण
राज्य सरकार की नौकरियों में ग्रुप 'C' और 'D' पदों के लिए Ex-Servicemen को 2% आरक्षण दिया जाता है। - बॉर्डर पुलिस में Ex-Servicemen की नियुक्ति
सीमा पुलिस में Ex-Servicemen की नियुक्ति का प्रावधान है। - जरूरतमंद ESM और उनके dependents को वित्तीय सहायता
जरूरतमंद ESM और उनके आश्रितों को राज्य सरकार द्वारा वित्तीय सहायता दी जाती है। - Ex-Servicemen रैलियों के लिए वित्तीय सहायता
राज्य सरकार प्रत्येक Zila Sainik Welfare Office को अपनी जिले में ESM रैली आयोजित करने के लिए वित्तीय सहायता प्रदान करती है। - व्यवसायिक कॉलेजों और तकनीकी संस्थानों में Ex-Servicemen के बच्चों के लिए सीटें आरक्षित
Ex-Servicemen के बेटों/बेटियों के लिए व्यावसायिक और तकनीकी कॉलेजों में आरक्षण की व्यवस्था की गई है। - Ex-Gratia अनुदान
असम राज्य में शहीद हुए सैनिकों के परिवारों (Next of Kin - NOK) को ₹20 लाख तक का Ex-Gratia अनुदान दिया जाता है।
